Show Me the Right Way Home

Heaven still
Waiting for the next to arrive
Angel’s will
Judgement day – who’s next in line?

Here I sit
Twisting my fingers
Do I need friends?
Do I need a lawyer to save my soul?

Courtroom fills
With tenured souls, who’ve seen it all before
Vultured thrills
Hot seat taken – face the jury

Here I sit
Twisting my fingers
Do I need friends?
Do I need a lawyer to save my soul?

I hear arguments read
Is this real?
The people rest
Did they offer a deal?
Can I speak to who’s in charge?
I’m begging you
I’m so confused

If they don’t let me in, to your heaven
Then, mister can you help me ride
In to a glory wind that can blow me
In a direction I can fly

I’m no saint, I’m only a man
Answering questions he don’t understand
Can you show me the right way home?

Heaven rests
Still I beg for mercy on high
Jesus bled
For sinners’ souls – it can’t be a lie

But here I sit
Twisting my fingers
Needing friends
I need a miracle to save my soul
The jury is split
Is it too late to plead
for tenured souls to acquit
I’m down on my knees
Can I speak to who’s in charge

I’m begging you
I’m so confused

If they don’t let me in, to your heaven
Then, mister can you help me ride
In to a glory wind that can blow me
In a direction I can fly

I’m no saint, I’m only a man
Answering questions he don’t understand
Can you show me the right way home?
